Janet St. Paul and PHYTO Paris
Master Hair Stylist Janet St. Paul opened her stunning new salon location in the Northshore building adjacent to Austin’s 2nd Street District on June 1st. Equipped with a team of tenured New York City senior stylists, the Janet St. Paul Studio for Hair and Beauty offers the highest quality hair care and was also recently selected among the most prestigious pool of salons by the French botanical haircare brand, PHYTO Paris, to become their North American flagship salon and professional education center.
For over 50 years, PHYTO Paris has been a leader in plant-based hair care and salon-quality formulas. Built on a heritage of craftsmanship and cutting edge scientific innovations, PHYTO Paris boasts the highest concentrations of pure plant extracts in today’s beauty market. As one of the world’s most respected hair care brands, PHYTO Paris is recognized as a symbol of performance, expertise and timeless beauty.
A traditional brasserie, Le Politique will offer a menu of classic French fare. An adjoining patisserie and coffee shop will feature a selection of housemade pastries and espresso to-go. Husband-and-wife team Derek Salkin and Alyssa Hurlstone join the restaurant as Executive Chef and Executive Pastry Chef, respectively. Salkin’s resume includes positions at Jean Georges, The Modern, Thomas Keller’s Per Se and The French Laundry, and Joël Robuchon Restaurant at the Mansion, a three Michelin-starred French restaurant located in Las Vegas.
V Spot was born during one annual fashion week trip from New York to Paris. V Spot seeks in-depth interpretation of modernity without overlooking the roots of the past. Made to order limited edition, prêt à porter, and accessories, the crux of our aesthetic is informed by Paraguayan art. We modernize ñanduti – the traditional handwoven lace made by indigenous Guarani women – and update traditional hand tooled leather and delicate handmade ancestral filigrana jewelry. With our multifunctional and versatile designs, a sophisticated, yet edgy woman can switch her look from casual to dressy, and unfold from day to evening.
Texas CASA and CASA of Travis County
When a child enters the child welfare system because his or her home is no longer safe due to abuse or neglect, a judge may appoint a committed volunteer advocate for the best interest of the child in court and other settings. That volunteer is called a Court Appointed Special Advocate, or CASA. By investing in Texas CASA and CASA of Travis County, you are supporting local CASA programs and children across the state.
